New Dismissal Changes for the 2019-2020 School Year

Please remember that we have made some changes to our dismissal procedures this year to alleviate stress and confusion for our students. A brief overview is below, but more details can be found in the student handbook.

Kane Elementary will NOT accept daily changes to a student’s dismissal plan. It is expected that children leave the school at the end of the day by their assigned bus or walking route. Students must leave at their assigned time as no childcare will be provided.

Bus routes and stops are assigned to students according to residence. Children are required to get on and off at assigned stops. District transportation will stop at scheduled stops ONLY.

Each student will be permitted a maximum of two stop locations – their primary residence and one alternate location. The alternate location will only be listed for custody and/or child care.

  • If there are two stop locations that will be used on a fixed schedule, then that schedule will need to be provided to the school.
  • If either of the stop locations will only be used periodically, then a note will need to be provided for your child on each of the days they are using the alternate stop. Notes may be sent in with the student, dropped off by a parent, or faxed to the office at 814-837-9207 by 12:00 p.m. Changes will not be taken by phone.

Emergency situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis. The following will not be accepted as emergencies:

  • Short-term child care arrangements
  • Birthday parties
  • Personal appointm
