Lockdown Drill

KASD Community,

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, The Kane Area School District will conduct a required lockdown drill in the elementary/middle school and high school. Pennsylvania State Police, McKean County Sheriff Department, and Kane Borough Police will be on site to assist with the drill and help school personnel evaluate the effectiveness of our emergency procedures.

The drill at the elementary/middle school is scheduled for 9:00 A.M. The drill at the high school will be conducted following completion of the elementary/middle school drill. No one will be permitted to enter the buildings during the drill and no phone calls will be accepted during this time. Please plan accordingly.

Please keep in mind this is only a drill with the intent to review our emergency procedures and provide students with an understanding of how to stay safe during an actual emergency. We will do everything we can to reduce any fear or anxiety that may arise prior to and after the drill. Please take the time to discuss school safety with your child.

If you have any questions regarding these drills, please feel free to contact your child’s principal or the Superintendent, Mr. Brock Benson.

Thank you.
