Message from the Superintendent
November 22, 2022

KASD Families,

Late last night, law enforcement and the school district were made aware of an anonymous threat directed at the middle school. This was sent to a student in his/her home on the evening of November 21, 2022. This morning, the district was on high alert and more details about the threat were shared as students arrived at school and made reports to school administrators.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Families should know we take any threat seriously and are working in conjunction with law enforcement to determine the validity of this threat. This has been reported to law enforcement for investigation. Local and state law enforcement will monitor the school, as well.

As a reminder, students, parents, and members of the public should contact 911 immediately in the event of any suspicious activity or threats of violence.
